January 22, 2021
Good afternoon Penn Cambria Families,
We have two additional announcements to share as we prepare for our hybrid return to school next week.
EMERGENCY CLOSURES
Should any emergency school closures be necessary due to COVID-19 or snow days, we will move to remote learning for that day. To be sure no one is missed in the communication, the global call will be made to all families, even if your child is already scheduled for remote learning that day. Canvas will be updated to provide information about your child’s classwork and Admiral Peary Vo-Tech students will also participate in remote vo-tech learning that day.
MS/HS AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING
Penn Cambria Middle School and Penn Cambria High School will offer after-school tutoring for students that need assistance in completing remote lessons or other schoolwork on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on February 2, 2021. This is in addition to the Remote Wednesday Sessions already offered during the hybrid schedule.
To continue to limit contact in the hybrid model, the tutoring sessions are only available for students who are already in the building on that day (i.e., Group B on Tuesdays and Group A on Thursdays). A teacher or paraprofessional will be available to help students as they work on remote lessons for the week or with other necessary schoolwork.
We will offer bus transportation home using community stops. However, students in need of transportation must sign up online by Friday at 3 pm the week before the sessions so that we can arrange for buses.
Students that will not need transportation may sign up until the day of the session. Students should report to the library immediately after school and will be assigned to a room location for tutoring at that time. The sign-up forms are available on the website.
If you are picking up your child, please be sure to arrive at the front of the school building by the end time designated below.
Middle School Tutoring – Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30-3:45 PM
High School Tutoring – Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:40-3:50 PM
Sincerely,
William Marshall
Superintendent
