Description: The Penn Cambria School District is seeking an educational leader who is qualified and has prior experience in education as its next Superintendent of Schools. The strong visionary leader must demonstrate clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, research proven strategies to increase student learning, a commitment to ensure student and staff safety, a clear understanding of building renovations and consolidation, and the ability to build strong community partnerships. The Penn Cambria School District is offering a multiyear contract that features a regionally competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates must possess, or be eligible for, a Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility.

 Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in education with a preference for a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership or related field of study
  • Ten years of full-time public school educational experience
  • At least three years of which were as a classroom teacher
  • At least three years in a school-based administrative or supervisory capacity within the past three years
  • A commitment to improving academic excellence
  • The ability to communicate and implement a clear vision to move the school district to a higher level in all areas related to student growth
  • The ability to implement research based instructional strategies for improving student learning
  • To demonstrate knowledge and skills in long term financial planning and school-based budgeting
  • Committed to the growth and development of an exemplary school district that supports family and community partnerships
  • To lead the school district and staff by example by treating all staff with dignity and respect at all times
  • To provide the Board of Directors with ongoing comprehensive and detailed information regarding all agenda items for the purpose of supporting decisions made at each Board Meeting.
