Dear Penn Cambria Families,

This afternoon, we were notified of a positive COVID-19 test result of a student in attendance this morning at Penn Cambria Pre-Primary School.

We immediately contacted the PA Department of Health for guidance. Families with children in the impacted classroom or who were on the same bus in the morning are being notified individually.

Out of an abundance of caution and to allow time for contact tracing to be completed, students in the impacted classroom will move to remote learning for the remainder of this week and return to the classroom on Monday, November 9th.

All buses are cleaned daily after each run, but as an extra precaution, an alternate bus was used for the afternoon bus run today. All common building areas are cleaned daily. The classroom will be deep cleaned before students return.

As the Department of Health completes the contact tracing process, any persons that are determined to be close contacts and need to quarantine will be contacted individually.

As spread of COVID-19 continues in our communities, it is critically important that all families continue to monitor for COVID symptoms and to stay home when symptoms are present. If you unsure about when your child should return to school, please contact our school nursing offices for additional information.
Remember to wear your mask, maintain social distance, wash your hands frequently, and stay home when you are not feeling well. Please do everything possible to stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,
William W. Marshall
Superintendent
Penn Cambria School District
