The Department of Health is now providing H1N1 vaccine to ANY Pennsylvanian who wants it. It's important for people to still get immunized, even though influenza activity in the state is declining. We anticipate a third wave of this pandemic will occur in Pennsylvania. The best way to protect yourself and your family is to get vaccinated.

Department of Health Requirements Physical exams are required in grades K, 6 and 11. Dental exams are required in grades K, 3 and 7. Forms are available to download from our website or from your school's health office.
Health Screenings All students are screened yearly for Growth (BMI) and Vision. In grades K, 1, 2, 3, 7 and 11 a hearing screening is conducted. Scoliosis screening is required for students in grades 6 and 7.
Medication Policy There may be times that a student may need to take medication during the school day. Penn Cambria School policy has the following procedures in place.
A completed Medication Authorization Form must be provided by the physician for prescriptive medicines. These instructions shall indicate the name of the medicine, the dosage, the time intervals, the possiblity of side reactions, duration of treatement, the physician's phone munber, and any other pertinent information. Parent signature is also required on the form.
The Medication Authorization Form is availalbe in each school's health office. Contact your school's nurse for futher information.
Use of Asthma Inhalers Every student who has asthma needs to have an Asthma Management Plan on file with the school nurse. An Asthma Inhalers Self-Administration by Students Form is available in the health office.
