2011-12 Application for Free and Reduced Lunch

Children need healthy meals to learn. Penn Cambria School District offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast at all schools costs $1.00. Lunch at the elementary schools costs $1.70. Lunch at the middle and high schools costs $1.80. Your child(ren) may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced price is $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch. If not applying for free and reduced price meals via COMPASS (see below), you may complete and submit this application to find out if your child(ren) qualifies for free or reduced price school meals. Only one (1) application per household needed.

Now families can apply for free or reduced price school meals through the National School Lunch Program online using the Internet! This can be done using COMPASS. COMPASS allows Pennsylvanian�s to apply for social service programs, such as Food Stamps (FS), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Energy Assistance, Children�s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), etc., online. Families can use COMPASS to apply for free or reduced price school meals only, or they can apply for other services at the same time (FS, TANF, etc.).

If The items are selected as a complete meal students are consuming a meal that complies with the U.S.D.A National School Lunch Guidelines in the 30% or less of the total calories come from fat and a food is consumed from all five of the major food groups according to the Food Guide Pyramid.
