Spring 2024 State Assessments – PSSA Information

PSSA English Language Arts
Students in grades 3 through 8 participate in the English Language Arts PSSA each spring.   The assessment is made up of three sections. The PDE Item & Scoring Sampler provides families with examples of the types of passages and questions found on the PSSA.  It also provides a good example of what students are expected to know and be able to do at each grade level across the state of Pennsylvania.

PSSA Math Info

Students in grades 3 through 8 participate in the PSSA Math Assessment each spring.  The PSSA Math Assessment consists of two sections.  Please see the PDE Item & Scoring Samplers for samples of PSSA Math test questions.  These item samplers are a great way to get an idea of what this assessment looks like and what students are expected to know and be able to do.

PSSA Science Info

Students in grades 4 and 8 participate in the state PSSA Science Assessment each spring.  The Science PSSA has two sections. The PDE Item & Scoring Samplers are a great resources for families who wish to see what these Science assessment questions might look like.
